From the campus-wide Triton day, to our annual week-long celebration of our founder, John Muir, Muir College's committees work to plan many events and activities throughout the year. Take a look at our current committees below and find out how to get involved!
Get down to your roots and be part of the Celebrating Muir Colllege Week/Muirstock committee! Help plan a series of activities in celebration of Muir College that culminates with Muir's annual music festival, Muirstock. Muirstock is a concert held every year, usually around Winter Quarter. Members of the committee secure funding, select bands/artists, set up day-time activities, and run the show. Past bands have included: Lit, the Aquabats, Rooney, Finch, Sherwood, Clara C., and Rico Nasty. The joint committee will begin meeting Fall quarter. For more information, contact L2ceballosmendoza@ucsd.edu.
The Senior Squad hosts a series of events in honor of graduating Muir College students, including annual traditions like the Senior Toast. Help plan an amazing sendoff for Muir's graduating students. For more information, contact c2pena@ucsd.edu.
Get involved in the planning of this year's graduation and sign up to be on John Muir's Commencement Committee! This is a great opportunity to help make graduation a meaningful event and have a voice in recommending a student speaker. The Commencement Committee will begin meeting during the Winter quarter. To get involved or to request more information, please email the Muir Deans Office.
Welcome Week may be the most memorable experiences of your college career and Muir's Welcome Week committee is responsible for planning every aspect of it. From selecting an Unolympics theme to choosing the nightly entertainment, the Welcome Week Committee makes it all happen! Meetings start during the Winter quarter. For more information, contact L2ceballosmendoza@ucsd.edu.
